Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for her role as the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. Her appearances comprise All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. While she had a childhood goal of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until her high school years that she began modeling. When she moved from New York City and gaining experiences in commercials at New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first role acting was as a young girl in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actor who has appeared featured in a variety of television dramas, and TV films. Her professional career has been much more lucrative than her personal life. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcoholism. In 2005, she was denied custody of the sole child that she had.
